Regina police have confirmed the body found on Saturday on College Avenue was a 16-year-old boy, but say there is no indication that his death was linked to any crime.
Police officers were alerted to the body after a report was called in at about 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.
They found the boy’s body on the 1000 block of College Avenue near Winnipeg Street.
Police have notified the teen’s family, and will not be releasing his name to the public.
“There are still investigative tasks to be carried out in this case, some of which will take months to complete,” the news release said.
Police believe “at this stage in the investigation, there is no indication that this person’s death is the result of criminal action”.
