RCMP are investigating after finding the body of a Kawacatoose First Nation man who went missing this past weekend.
According to Mounties, the 32-year-old was last seen by his family late last Saturday afternoon on the Day Star First Nation. Police became aware that he was missing on Sunday.
While investigating the man’s disappearance with the help of a police dog from Yorkton, Punnichy RCMP were notified by Wynyard EMS that the man’s body was found. It was located on Grid 743, north of the Day Star First Nation.
Punnichy RCMP, with help from the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, Major Crimes Unit South and Forensic Identification Service, are still investigating the circumstances around the man’s death. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
Day Star First Nation is located approximately five kilometres east of Punnichy.
