Over 1,200 people in Saskatchewan chose to use Operation Red Nose to get a safe ride home this past holiday season.
The annual campaign ended New Year’s Eve for the 35th year.
In the province, 724 volunteers helped a total of 1,262 motorists get safely home in 2018. This was a slight decrease from the 1,308 rides given out by the campaign last year. It is still above the 2016 number of 1,166 rides.
Operation Red Nose is in 102 communities across the country and 73,150 Canadians used it in 2018.
Over its 35 years of existence, 2,297,491 safe rides have been given out by the program.
