Weyburn police have charged a 23-year-old man with second-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Nathan Hutt this weekend.
According to police, three men — including Hutt — allegedly broke into a home in the community around 9 p.m. Friday, while armed with a gun.
Investigators have since learned that an altercation broke out inside the home and shots were fired.
In a news release on Sunday, police said Hutt and one other man went to the hospital afterwards.
Hutt succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.
On Sunday, police announced charges for the suspects in the home invasion and the person inside the home when it happened.
Dominick Hawkes, 23, and William McLeod, 25, face several charges — including break-and-enter and others involving firearms.
Keegan Muxlow, the man inside the house when the home invasion began, is charged with second-degree murder and firearms offences.
Police believe Muxlow was targeted and this was not a random incident.
All three of the accused will be in Weyburn court on Tuesday.
