Chris Jones has unfinished business in Saskatchewan.
That’s how the Riders head coach shrugged off a question about his NFL interest, wanting to remain focused on the task at hand.
He mentioned two things specifically; winning a Grey Cup and finding a quarterback.
It would seem you may need the latter before you get to the former. And if there was an off-season in which there was a plentiful abundance of quarterbacks, this would be the one.
However, the market could dry up quickly if the dominoes don’t fall the right way for the Riders.
Jones says he has to leave all options on the table, which goes along with last year’s off-season quote of leaving no stone unturned to find the next quarterback for Saskatchewan. At some point, the Riders and Chris Jones have to find a guy, right?
And if Chris Jones is serious about getting a shot in the NFL, finding a quarterback to win a championship greatly enhances his chances down south.
Maybe, loading up the cash for Mike Reilly makes more and more sense as free agency nears a month away.
