An arrow from the bow of Dennis Bennett took down more than just a deer with large antlers last October.
Monday, the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation announced that Bennett’s non-typical mule deer broke a provincial record set in the 1920s by Nelson Clark.
According to a press release from the SWF, Bennett’s deer scored 293 6/8. Clark’s record was 290.
“Bennett’s Non-Typical Mule Deer entry now joins Milo Hanson’s Buck (White-tailed Deer) as another recognized world record harvested from Saskatchewan,” said Warren Howse, SWF Henry Kelsey Chair in the release.
“It is indicative of the quality of wildlife resources we cherish here in our province.”
Bennett shot the deer in the Arm River area.
