Here’s some advice for Kawhi Leonard of the Toronto Raptors: Don’t go outside.
Having just returned from Toronto, I know first-hand that Torontonians whine more about the weather than anyone else in Canada. And the so-called Centre of the Universe has been suffering through a horrible winter storm lately, leading to incessant news reports, weather updates and social media postings.
Serge Ibaka, Leonard’s Raptors teammate, posted video of himself bundled up for an unpleasant walk in downtown Toronto. James Wilder Jr., a running back with the Toronto Argonauts, promised on Twitter he will never again spend time in Canada between December and April.
Snow and cold are the main characteristics of a Canadian winter. Even though he’s evidently not into social media, Leonard may have known that when he was traded to Toronto for the final year of his NBA contract. Torontonians want their superstar to re-sign with the Raptors, but this weather won’t help. Neither will the whining.
