Over to you, Paul Jones.
Your new employer, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, made only minor moves in the free-agent market. Despite the claims of general manager Jeremy O’Day, the team does have holes to fill. No CFL teams have enough offensive linemen. Maybe you know some receivers? A couple linebackers? A defensive end and some DBs?
Through your work as a scout, primarily with the Edmonton Eskimos, we know you have an impressive track record of finding talent. Maybe you could find another Ricky Ray. The Roughriders could really use a quarterback.
Your predecessor, Chris Jones, conducted numerous offseason workouts throughout the southern states, collecting $100 US for every wannabe pro football player who showed up with cleats. Whatever method you use to discover talent, whoever you talk to, wherever you search, there are thousands of Roughriders fans hoping your reputation as a super scout is well-deserved. You have a huge bankroll at your disposal to travel the continent, or even head to Europe, to find the players who can help the Roughriders at least match last year’s 12-6 record. You accepted this mission, Mr. Jones, and it’s not impossible.
