More adult players are now investing in the protective equipment.
Three inmates at the Regina Correctional Centre remain in secure units as a result of what’s being called “a disturbance.”
The Ministry of Corrections and Policing confirms pepper spray was used to bring the unit under control during the Feb. 2 “minor” incident.
The disturbance led to the entire facility being on lockdown for a while with the unit involved under the same status for 48 hours.
Now inmates on that unit remain subject to reduced programming as a result.
Both the Ministry of Corrections and Policing and the RCMP are investigating the matter.
