Kienan LaFrance has returned to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The CFL team announced Thursday that it had signed the national free-agent running back, who spent the 2017 season with the Roughriders. He was a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2018.
The 5-foot-10, 214-pound LaFrance began his CFL career in 2015 with the Ottawa Redblacks, who selected him in the sixth round (45th overall) of the 2015 draft out of the University of Manitoba.
After two seasons in Ottawa, LaFrance signed as a free agent with Saskatchewan in February of 2017. He appeared in 13 regular-season games, rushing 68 times for 273 yards with two touchdowns and catching 14 passes for 123 yards and a TD.
He was released by the Roughriders in February of 2018 and signed with Winnipeg. In 16 regular-season games with the Bombers last season, the 27-year-old LaFrance had 36 carries for 137 yards and two touchdowns.
