Water main breaks have been the cause of a few headaches for the City of Moose Jaw over the past week.
The city has experienced 11 water main breaks in a week with the first one occurring on Feb. 15. As of Friday, crews have repaired seven of the breaks, with two more scheduled for Friday.
One that was a major concern for the city happened at a transmission line located on 14th Avenue NW and Caribou Street W. Crews were unable to isolate it due to faulty or non-existent valves and incomplete construction records. The repair had to be made while the line was under pressure.
Water is in the fields and areas by the Yara Centre, because a line that was draining to that area could not be repaired until Friday.
The final lines that need to be repaired are not affecting property owners and will be repaired the week of Feb. 25.
