There ain’t no party like a Saskatchewan party.
We’ve seen that for a long time. From Briers and Scotties to Memorial Cups, World Junior Hockey Championships and three Grey Cups.
And, boy, have we come a long way. CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie said the proposal and presentation put forward by the Riders for the 2020 Grey Cup would have won over any boardroom in any corner of the world to host an event.
The same was said about the 100th Memorial Cup bid put in by the Regina Pats. The committees in Moose Jaw, Regina and Saskatoon have done the same for the major curling events that have come our way.
Why? Passionate people who lead the charge and passionate volunteers who make it all work seamlessly.
There was a time little ol’ Saskatchewan was seen as a lesser-than. But we’ve shown them. And we’ll show them again in 2020.
