Regina could be a little hotter this weekend, but not because of the weather. The Taboo Sex Show is happening in the city this weekend.
“It’s everything to do with making your romantic life a little bit better,” explained Sean Libin with CanWest productions, speaking on behalf of the show.
It’s an adult-themed show and is fully licensed so only those 19 years or older can get in.
Libin said there will be entertainment — from drag shows to all-male revues, to pole dancing demonstrations — along with shopping and seminars.
He explained there are seminars about more mainstream things like communication, but also some things that are a little off the beaten path.
“When Fifty Shades of Grey came about, every soccer mom was buying that book and going to those movies and they all wanted to learn how to spice things up a bit in the bedroom. But we want to make sure people are doing it properly, safely, consensually. We want to make sure that they know what they can do, how to do it.”
There will be a ton of exhibitors at the show, and Libin said you can see products in person and speak with experts, which you can’t do if you’re buying online.
“You can — in a very open, safe environment — have the conversation that you probably can’t have in your office.”
Admission is $15 at the door, and the show runs all weekend at the Conexus Arts Centre, until 5 p.m. on Sunday.
