Parts of southern and central Saskatchewan were once again under extreme cold warnings Tuesday morning.
Environment Canada issued warnings for areas including Kindersley, Meadow Lake, Melfort and Yorkton.
Saskatoon was under a warning as of 7 a.m. with a wind chill of -42 C.
Regina was above the threshold for an extreme cold warning, but conditions were still chilly with a temperature of -27 C with wind chill of -32 C.
Both Saskatoon and Regina were expected to warm up to highs around -10 C for Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures coming back down by the weekend.
Environment Canada issues extreme cold warnings in areas where wind chill values are expected to dip below -40 C.
Skin can freeze rapidly in those conditions, as such, the weather service advised people in affected areas to bundle up.
Pet owners were also urged to keep their animals indoors.
