A two-vehicle crash Saturday night has killed one person and sent two others to hospital.
Around 10:45 p.m. RCMP announced the closure of Highway 9, 30 kilometres north of Carlyle, between Grid Road 711 and Highway 48, following the collision.
Mounties said a southbound vehicle appears to have hit a snowdrift and lost control before colliding with a northbound vehicle.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Paramedics took the driver of the northbound vehicle to the Kipling Hospital—the passenger was taken to a Regina hospital by STARS Air Ambulance.
RCMP did not provide any information about the extent of the two peoples’ injuries.
Traffic restrictions around the crash site were lifted around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday.
