A portion of the town of Rocanville has been placed under a precautionary drinking water advisory by the provincial Ministry of Health.
A water main break is to blame for the advisory, which was issued Tuesday. The advisory is in effect until further notice.
The order covers Francis Avenue east of Ellice Street, Garry, Alexander, Fort and Kelly streets, Mallard Drive, Bobolink Bay, Park and Robin avenues, Cameron Crescent, Dauncey Drive, Autumn Court and the east rural line. Any other individuals who get their water from that area also are covered by the advisory.
Residents should boil their water for at least a minute prior to using it for purposes such as drinking, washing fruits and vegetables and brushing teeth.
Public drinking fountains also are to be avoided while the advisory is in effect.
