Flames are leaving the white front door of a home in North Central charred black and its windows shattered Thursday evening.
A house fire broke out around 5 p.m. in the 1300 block of Garnet Street, near Dewdney Pool.
Mike Tropea was is in his backyard when he first smelt the smoke nearby.
“I could see smoke coming through in the sky and then a whole bunch of fire trucks — you could hear them,” he said.
When Tropea and his son walked down to investigate a few minutes later, he saw firefighters on the second level of the home.
“I watched somebody smash glass from the windows up top,” he described.
Tropea said it appeared a house next door also briefly caught fire, but doesn’t look like its in as bad of shape.
Regina Fire hasn’t confirmed if anyone was hurt in the blaze or what caused it to spark.
