The Regina Police Service is offering Queen City residents the chance to get criminal record checks online.
The service is available on the RPS website. It initially was raised as a possibility in December of 2017 but took more than a year to implement.
With demand for criminal record checks rising – sports teams, community organizations and charities are among those who ask for one to be done – the RPS looked to make the service more convenient.
On the RPS website, applicants should look under “Resources” for “Criminal Record Check,” or they should scroll down to “Helpful Links” and click on “Criminal Record Check,” or they should click on “Search” and enter “criminal record check” in the field. Applicants then will be prompted to the required webpages.
According to the RPS, some types of record checks cannot be completed solely online. As a result, applicants may have to attend the RPS headquarters to finish the process.
There will be an additional cost by using the online service.
Questions about online criminal record checks can be sent via email to regina@policesolutions.ca.
