Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Well, I’d like to argue scorned fans may take it one step further.
We are seeing it in New York as John Tavares has had two trips back since leaving Islander fans seething. ‘Pajama Boy,’ as Islander fans have dubbed him, had stuff thrown at him and obscenities screamed at him in his first appearance back on the Island. It was just as brutal the second time around, save for nobody was tossing a jersey at him, thankfully.
Last night in Washington, Bryce Harper heard the boo birds, as the free agent left for Philadelphia.
And we all remember Henry Burris’ arrival back in Saskatchewan as a remember of the Calgary Stampeders, Hamilton Tiger-Cats or Ottawa Redblacks. Lest we forget, he left Saskatchewan in 2005 when saying he wanted to be a Rider.
But then you remember Elin Nordegren’s nine-iron to Tiger Woods and realize playwright William Congreve still has it right.
