The outrage at the Alliance of American Football (AAF) is coming in fast and furious from the players and employees of the eight-weeks-and-done league.
Investor Tom Dundon up and took a $70-million hit to walk away from the AAF.
We pointed out that the SNC-Lavalin scandal has now lasted longer than the AAF and Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kris Humphries was 20 days longer.
Is that showing a lack of sympathy for all those without work? Maybe. Or it’s just pointing out that a league that had many skeptics proved those naysayers right.
I’d also note investing millions of dollars and, for the players, taking jobs in the AAF rather than the CFL was a short-sighted proposition.
I feel for those players, who will miss out on two weeks of pay, but if they are sitting at home today completely shocked this league didn’t work, that’s on them.
And it should be a clear warning for those about to make the same mistake by choosing the XFL next season over the well-established Canadian Football League.
