Regina police say an officer used a taser while arresting a suspect early Thursday morning.
Police were sent to the area near Casino Regina shortly after 4 a.m. after getting a call about a man with a gun.
The suspect was found near the intersection of Rose Street and Saskatchewan Drive, according to a police media release.
Police said the man was still in possession of a gun when an officer used a taser on him.
The suspect was arrested, given medical treatment and then taken to the Regina police cells.
Police did not indicate if the man would be charged, but said they were continuing to investigate the incident.
The officer’s use of the taser will be reviewed by the Regina Police Service use-of-force committee and reported to the Saskatchewan Police Commission.
