One small Saskatchewan Roughriders fan in Ontario will be getting a brand new teddy bear thanks to a small act of kindness from a current player.
On Twitter, an account with the handle @MoBay_LA indicated a green and white Rider teddy bear — named “Green Stuffy Stuffy” — had been lost in a parking lot in Niagara Falls.
Upon seeing that, Regina-born Riders defensive tackle Zack Evans sprung into action to try and bring a smile to a child’s face.
“When you see a Saskatchewan Roughrider fan all the way in Ontario lose something and you have a way of making their day better — I was already at the stadium and it was nice and easy for me just to pop down to The Store — it’s an easy thing to do to me,” Evans said in an interview played Monday on the Greg Morgan Morning Show.
Evans picked up a brand new bear, outfitted it with a Rider T-shirt and pressed on his jersey number to complete the ensemble.

Growing up in the Queen City, Evans know first-hand how Riders players are regarded in the community and how many little kids look up to them.
“Having a Rider actually think about you and go out of his way to do something, I think it’s amazing,” Evans said. “But I don’t do it for that kind of stuff. I just do it to help people.”
The bear has been sent off, but Evans doesn’t know when it will reach its destination.
@MoBay_LA has since responded on Twitter, telling Evans he rocks and hopes to thank him in person when the Riders are either playing in Toronto against the Argos or in Hamilton versus the Tiger-Cats.
