There are more than 228,000 kilometres of road in Saskatchewan — and some of them are in pretty bad shape.
That’s in part what inspired CAA Saskatchewan’s annual worst road competition, which kicked off on Wednesday.
Members of the public are encouraged to nominate the worst road that they’ve come across in their travels and commutes, whether it be a highway with crumbling shoulders or a city street with potholes.
What qualifies for the worst road? CAA said worst roads “have potholes or crumbling pavement, poor road signs, lack of cycling or walking infrastructure” or even traffic congestion.
Last year’s winner was High Street West in Moose Jaw, which since has been fixed.
The contest closes on May 8 with a winner announced on May 9.
Those who wish to nominate a road or vote on the worst road can do so on CAA Saskatchewan’s website.
