The annual big game draw is to open Wednesday in Saskatchewan.
“Saskatchewan’s big game draw continues to be very popular and remains an important milestone for the hunting community,” Environment Minister Dustin Duncan said in a media release. “The Ministry of Environment continues to work with stakeholders to improve the process and encourages all hunters to apply early.”
The deadline for hunters to submit their online applications is midnight on May 25. Further information about the draw is available here.
All first-time applicants this year are to be placed in the D pool. They’ll be joined in that pool by all successful applicants from 2018 in an effort to drop the number of applicants entering the Super A pool each year.
Results of the draw are to be available through the Saskatchewan Hunting, Angling and Trapping Licence (HAL) system around mid-June, with results of the pronghorn draw available around mid-July.
Applicants are responsible for checking their own draw results. Licences can be purchased beginning Aug. 1.
