The Regina Police Service is asking for the public’s help in finding a man who tried to steal a car at gunpoint Tuesday.
According to a media release issued by the police, officers were sent to the 2600 block of 5th Avenue North at about 9:15 a.m., for a report of an attempted armed robbery.
A 64-year-old man at an apartment building in that block told officers he was approached by a masked man armed with a gun. The suspect demanded the keys to the victim’s vehicle, but took off before getting them.
The victim wasn’t injured.
The suspect was last seen running eastbound on 5th Avenue North. He was described as being 5-foot-6 or 5-foot-7 and was wearing a blue hoodie, jeans and a grey balaclava.
