The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed two of the players they selected in the 2019 CFL draft.
The team announced Wednesday that defensive lineman Charbel Dabire (fifth round, 44th overall) and offensive lineman Vincent Roy (sixth round, 53rd overall) had signed contracts.
Dabire, a 6-foot-1, 300-pounder out of Toronto, played 33 games over three seasons with the Wagner College Seahawks in New York City. The Toronto product recorded 73 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Roy spent four seasons with the University of Sherbrooke Vert et Or. Roy, who hails from Granby, Que., played both offensive and defensive line during his collegiate career.
Saskatchewan’s four other picks in the draft – receiver Justin McInnis (first round, sixth overall), receiver Brayden Lenius (second round, 15th overall), linebacker Jacob Janke (fourth round, 35th overall) and defensive end Chris Judge (eighth round, 71st overall) – have yet to sign.
