The Regina Police Service is investigating after a man was shot in east Regina early Thursday.
According to a media release, officers were sent at approximately 2:35 a.m., to the 3200 block of Harding Street for reports of a disturbance. The release said police were told “that loud banging sounds were heard in the area.”
When they arrived at the scene, officers found a man in a vehicle who was suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics were called and took the man to hospital for treatment.
The investigation centred around a car that had a shattered driver’s side window. There appeared to be dried blood on the road beside the car.
Police searched the area but didn’t locate a suspect.
“There is no indication that the victim was randomly targeted,” the media release said, “and as a result, it is not believed there is an elevated risk to public safety.”
