The Regina Police Service has launched an arson investigation after three recent fires in vacant structures.
Two fires occurred on April 17. The first broke out just after midnight in a vacant home in the 900 block of Cameron Street where, officers were told, a squatter had broken in and started a fire.
Less than an hour later, police were called to the 800 block of Athol Street for the report of a shed on fire. The police believe that fire is related to the one on Cameron Street.
The third fire was reported to police on April 25, just after 5:30 p.m. Officers were called to a vacant home in the 4400 block of Dewdney Avenue and were told a man had been seen running from the house before the fire started.
The police are reminding property owners to make sure that vacant buildings are locked or boarded up to prevent people from breaking in and setting fires.
Anyone with information that can help with the investigation is asked to call the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
