Regina police identify man killed in officer-involved shooting

Regina police confirmed Friday the identity of the man who died in an officer-involved shooting on May 4.

Geoff Morris, who was identified by family on social media in the days after the incident, was shot and killed by an officer during an alleged hostage situation in an apartment on the 1900 block of Halifax Street.

Police said the officer who fired their gun was a 14-year member of the force.

The Regina police and Saskatchewan Coroners Service investigation continues with oversight from the Ministry of Justice.
