A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for a number of areas in southeastern Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada issued the warnings for the rural municipalities of Churchbridge and Saltcoats. Alerts were issued for centres like Esterhazy, Melville and Yorkton.
According to Environment Canada, its meteorologists “are tracking an area of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter-sized hail and damaging wind gusts in excess of 90 (kilometres per hour).”
Meanwhile, severe thunderstorm watches remain in effect for RMs across the southeastern portion of the province.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail,” Environment Canada said in its release.
