The Golden State Warriors are back in the NBA final for the fifth straight year.
“BORING!” was the first piece of feedback I heard following their overtime victory to sweep Portland in the Western Conference final.
Sure, it’s the same team in the final … again. Whatever team LeBron was on made it to the final for seven straight seasons.
But the NBA is star-driven more than any other league. The stars are on the floor for at least three-quarters of the action. NHL stars are in play about one-third of the game, NFL is half the game and Major League Baseball for the offensive stars is one-ninth.
I for one am bored with the New England Patriots, but that’s because the way they play is plodding ball-control offence. The Warriors are must-see TV.
And they are winning without three of their top six players. They win with strong defence and high-paced offence.
If you’re not a fan of dynasties, I understand. But if you’re a fan of entertainment, I think you should be rejoicing that you get to see more Golden State basketball this spring.
