The ratings are in and Canada is watching the Toronto Raptors in record numbers. Never before seen is a Canadian team going for an NBA title.
But lest we forget what happens tonight. The best trophy in sports, the Stanley Cup, will be handed to either Alex Pietrangelo or Zdeno Chara.
There is nothing better than a deciding Game 7 to finish off the NHL playoffs.
And here we are. There are sentimental reasons to root for the St. Louis Blues, with three Saskatchewan kids trying to achieve their ultimate dream of lifting the Cup.
The Boston Bruins are trying to repeat history of coming back from 3-2 down to win Game 6 and Game 7 like they did the last time they won the Stanley Cup in 2011.
That Game 7 hauled in more than 8 million viewers. Of course, there was a Canadian team in the mix so tonight likely won’t get the numbers the Raptors are seeing but it’s still the Stanley Cup.
And when the trophy gets lifted in the air, it’s always must-see television for me.
