Severe thunderstorm watches were lifted for a number of areas in southern Saskatchewan as of 8 p.m. Friday night.
The warning issued by Environment Canada covered areas around Estevan, Milestone, Radville, Weyburn, Carlyle, Oxbow, Carnduff, Bienfait, Stoughton, Moosomin, Grenfell, Kipling, Wawota, Fort Qu’Appelle, Indian Head, Lumsden and Pilot Butte.
According to Environment Canada, the storm was capable of producing loonie-sized hail and wind gusts in excess of 90 kilometres per hour.
