An RCMP officer has been suspended with pay after he was charged with assault last month in Wollaston Lake.
The RCMP received a report of an alleged assault committed by an off-duty officer at a home in the community on May 21.
Cpl. Luay Toma was arrested and charged with one count of assault on May 30. Toma is the subject of an ongoing Code of Conduct review by the RCMP.
He is set to appear in Wollaston Lake Provincial Court on July 10.
Wollaston Lake is approximately 550 kilometres northeast of Prince Albert.
