For the second afternoon in a row, Swift Current got hit with a big downpour on Wednesday, but it didn’t appear to be as bad as the day before.
“Another day of biblical rain in Swift Current,” Ryan Switzer said as rain on the roof of his car punctuated his words.
Video from Switzer’s Twitter account showed vehicles slowly making their way through a flooded intersection near the Cinema Twin theatre, and vehicles in a partially flooded parking lot.

He said it was similar to Tuesday when, around 3 o’clock in the afternoon, the city got some pea-sized hail, then about an hour later some ominous clouds started to roll in.
“It went from being just a beautiful day — you know, the sun shining, hardly a cloud in the sky — and then just whammo,” said Switzer.
However, Switzer and several people around the city said the storm Wednesday wasn’t nearly as bad as the rain and flooding on Tuesday.
All of the thunderstorm watches and warnings for the area issued by Environment Canada had ended by 5:30 p.m.
