Jamie Nye: Kawhi a Laker? Sure. Good for him if it happens

Kevin Durant going to the Warriors had people questioning his toughness.

They believed he took the easy way to a championship, rather than sticking it out in Oklahoma or going to a team less stacked than the champs he joined in Oakland.

Now the same type of storyline is being thrown at the potential of Kawhi Leonard signing with LeBron James and Anthony Davis and the L.A. Lakers.

Look, there are two things players should be motivated and driven by when they get to the professional level: Championships and money, maybe for some not in that order.

Would you rather be Dan Marino or Peyton Manning? Two greats. Two rings separate them.

If Kawhi wants to go to the Lakers to try to win championships and make similar money, go nuts. Would I rather see him stay in Toronto? Of course.

I’m done judging players about where they go and for how much they go for.

It’s their life. Their families. Their money.

And if I were in their shoes, I’d be chasing championships too.
