Four teenagers are facing weapons charges following an incident in Regina on Sunday.
At approximately midnight, police were summoned to the 1000 block of Garnet Street for a weapons call.
Officers were told a vehicle with four occupants pulled up beside another vehicle. One of the occupants of the first vehicle pointed a gun at the person in the second vehicle. The victim was able to get away unharmed.
Officers subsequently pulled over the suspects’ vehicle on the 1100 block of Angus Street, where the four males were arrested. Police say they found a gun, ammunition, bear spray, drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Two 18-year-old men, a 17-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy all face seven weapons charges and two charges of possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The 15- and 17-year-olds can’t be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
All four suspects appeared in court Monday.
Man charged with weapons offences
Earlier Sunday, a 37-year-old man was arrested after he was spotted running in the area of Victoria Avenue and Atkinson Street with what appeared to be a gun.
The incident happened just before 9:30 p.m. Police were told the man was seen outside a business on the 700 block of Victoria Avenue looking into a vehicle holding a weapon. Shortly after that, officers were told a man holding what appeared to be a gun had been knocking on the door of a home on the 2000 block of Atkinson Street.
Officers found the man on Atkinson and ordered him to drop the gun. Instead, he threw it into the yard of a house and broke a glass door.
Police arrested the suspect and retrieved the firearm, which turned out to be an airsoft gun.
The man appeared in court Monday morning.
