The Regina Provincial Correctional Centre is on lockdown after what a Ministry of Justice spokesman called “a disturbance.”
The incident occurred Friday morning.
“The primary concern in any of the province’s correctional facilities is the safety and security of staff, inmates and the facility itself,” the spokesman said in an emailed statement.
“A disturbance occurred on one of the units at Regina Correctional Centre this morning. Staff are currently dealing with the situation and, as a result, the facility has been put on lockdown.”
The ministry didn’t provide any more information.
