Severe thunderstorm warning issued for southern Sask.

Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for an area in southern Saskatchewan on Friday afternoon.

The warning covered areas around Assiniboia, Gravelbourg and Coronach.

Just after 4 p.m., the weather service said its meteorologists were tracking “a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, nickel- to ping pong-ball size hail and heavy rain.”
