Council retroactively slashed $1.33 million in rent owed by the Roughriders.
There is a lot to like about Cody Fajardo. I was on board back in May when Fajardo, who was in his fifth CFL training camp at Griffiths Stadium, said that he always considers himself at the bottom of the depth chart to start each season.
There appears to be no entitlement, and lots of humility.
Following Thursday’s win over Hamilton, a little more than 24 hours after Zach Collaros was traded to Toronto, Fajardo established himself as the undisputed starter of this team by doing his
part and then some with a gutsy performance in a win over the CFL’s best team, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
This is all good, but I don’t understand the discussion from some fans and media types about the importance of signing Fajardo to a long term deal quite yet.
The likeable, talented quarterback has just one win over a CFL team that has a better record than the Roughriders.
Let’s allow Fajardo to grow, get more chemistry with teammates and ensure that he can beat more than just one elite team before looking too far in the future.
