Health authority looking to anonymous tip line options

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has put out a call for proposals to establish an anonymous tip line for reporting employees who break the rules.

The provincial health agency confirmed the news in an email to 980 CJME on Monday.

The email said the hotline service would allow users to report “employees and others (who) are suspected of violating SHA policies, codes of conduct or legal requirements.”

The SHA is doing the request for proposals (RFP) in conjunction with its whistleblower policy, the authority’s Lisa Thomson said.

“As the Request for Proposals states, there is no guarantee the SHA will proceed to purchase such a service externally, but this Request for Proposals is important to gather information about available external resources to potentially support the policy,” Thomson said.

She also said the RFP is not the result of a specific incident or event.
