10:00 – Prime Minister Trudeau met with Toronto Mayor John Tory today to discuss gun control after a rash of handgun violence in Canada’s largest city. Tory has called for citywide and nationwide handgun bans, and with the election set for the fall many are expecting Trudeau to include a handgun ban in his campaign platform. Toronto Sun Columnist Brian Lilley says he expects Trudeau will move to ban handguns, despite an estimated cost of $2 billion and the illegality of many of the weapons used by criminals. Lilley joins John now to discuss the mood around handguns in Toronto and why he expects Trudeau will run on a ban.
