Two males have been arrested in connection with a break-in Tuesday that sent a young man to hospital with a gunshot wound.
According to the Regina Police Service, the incident happened Tuesday at about 6:15 p.m., in the 1800 block of Halifax Street. Responding to reports of a weapons offence, officers found an injured youth inside the house. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
On Thursday, police saw one of the two suspects in a vehicle in the area of Dewdney Avenue and Lewvan Drive. Officers pulled over the car, arrested and charged a man, and found a gun inside the car.
After further investigation, police also arrested a 16-year-old male at a home in the 2000 block of Osler Street on Friday.
Ethan Vanharten-Bagi, 29, is charged with breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence as well as a variety of weapons offences. He was to appear in court Monday.
The 16-year-old male, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, also is charged with breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence and breach of an undertaking.
The youth also was to appear in court Monday.
