Regina police officers are investigating a home invasion as well as an attempted home invasion that occurred in the city over the past two days.
On Tuesday at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers were sent to the 1800 block of Broder Street for a report of an attempted break-in.
They found that a man had attempted to get into the house by using a hatchet to break windows and damage the front door. He demanded to be let in, but the male resident refused to let the suspect in. The suspect then fled southbound into an alley.
The suspect is described as being approximately 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, wearing a black bandana over his face, black sunglasses and a white hoodie. The hatchet is described as being approximately 18 inches long.
On Monday, there was a home invasion in the 1200 block of Queen Street.
In a media release, police said officers responded at approximately 11 p.m., to a report of a robbery.
A man allegedly armed with a knife and gun had entered the house, assaulted a 49-year-old woman, and demanded money and medication from the woman and a 59-year-old man. The suspect also took personal items from the victims.
The woman’s injury was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The suspect is described as a young adult, about 5-foot-5 and 125 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing black clothes, black glasses and a covering over his face.
