One person is dead and another is hurt after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 11 near Osler Friday afternoon.
In a media release, RCMP said around 4:45 p.m., a southbound service truck and a northbound SUV collided head-on in the southbound lane near the south entrance into Osler.
When EMS arrived at the scene, police said the passenger — a 75-year-old woman — inside the SUV was dead. The SUV’s 80-year-old driver was sent to hospital with “undetermined injuries.”
According to Mounties, the driver of the truck was treated by paramedics on scene and released.
RCMP collision reconstructionists continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
EDITOR’S NOTE: An earlier version of this story read that the service truck was going northbound and the SUV was driving southbound when, in fact, it’s the reverse. RCMP sent out a media release Sunday with the information correction.
