A man whose arrival in Regina’s Heritage neighbourhood in August prompted a public advisory from the Regina Police Service has been arrested for breaching the conditions of his release.
Jason Paul Thorne, 42, was arrested early Sunday for being unlawfully at large.
In a media release Monday, Regina police said they received word Saturday at approximately 11:40 p.m., that Thorne wasn’t at his residence as required by the conditions of his statutory release. He was arrested Monday morning.
Thorne is a convicted sex offender, but the police stressed in the media release “that the arrest was not the result of a new crime against a person or property, but rather a breach of conditions.”
He appeared in court Monday afternoon.
