10:00 – The RCMP said it will pause its investigation into the SNC-Lavalin scandal during the election campaign, but that isn’t sitting well with retired judge Brian Giesbrecht. Giesbrecht says they should proceed regardless of politics, as nobody – even the prime minister – is above the law. He joins John now to discuss the RCMP’s investigation.

11:00 – Robert Fife, Ottawa bureau chief for the Globe and Mail, is one of the reporters who broke the initial SNC-Lavalin story back on Feb. 7. His latest scoops revealed that Ottawa had hampered an RCMP investigation into the SNC-Lavalin scandal by refusing to lift cabinet confidentiality for all the witnesses the police wanted to interview, and that former justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould met with the police investigators this week. Fife joins Gormley now to discuss the latest twists in the scandal that continues to plague the highest office in Canada.

12:00 – The Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, which launched in January as the fundraising partner of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, kicked off its first fundraising campaign on Wednesday. The foundation is hoping to raise $3 million to replace the Cancer Agency’s two CT simulators. These machines produce images of the body showing where cancer is located, and the treatment team uses the images to create a treatment plan. Every patient that needs radiation as part of their treatment requires a CT simulation, and their current machines are reaching the end of their 8-10 year life cycle. Cancer Foundation CEO Nora Yeates joins John now to discuss the new foundation and their fundraising efforts.
