An attempted break-in turned into a beatdown for a man in Moose Jaw.
In a media release issued Tuesday, the Moose Jaw Police Service said officers responded to a call of a disturbance on High Street West on Thursday. When they arrived, they found a man who had been in a fight.
After the man was taken to hospital, officers discovered he allegedly had broken into an apartment while wearing a mask and carrying weapons.
The resident of the apartment had confronted the man and a fight had broken out — a scrap that left the suspect with his injuries. According to the police, the resident and the suspect know each other.
The resident wasn’t charged, but the suspect was after he was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.
He faces charges of break and enter, assault with a weapon, mischief and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence. The police said more charges could be laid after further investigation.
