The Antonio Brown situation isn’t a first in pro sports.
Brown, who is being accused of sexually assaulting trainer Britney Taylor and is also accused of rape by another woman in a Florida lawsuit, tweeted yesterday that he is finished with the NFL and pointed fingers at many others. After Oakland released him in the midst of scandal, he played one game for the Patriots before they cut him loose.
We’ve seen athletes think that they are bigger than the game and above the law before, and we’ll see it again.
On Sunday, before and after the Patriots played the Jets, members of the New England team were asked about Brown’s short, one-game stint with the Patriots. Coach Bill Belichick refused to answer a question about Brown, while quarterback Tom Brady showed a ton of class when he said he had a lot of personal feelings he didn’t care to share.
This is news, but nothing new, and it will happen again.
