Two women are recovering after being bear-sprayed in separate incidents in Regina on Friday.
In a media release issued Monday, Regina police said they can’t confirm the incidents are related, but the locations of the attacks and the time frames suggest they may be connected.
Just before 9:10 p.m., a 33-year-old woman was sprayed in the area of 12th Avenue and Ottawa Street. The woman said a man in a truck called her over and bear-sprayed her.
The woman told police the truck was blue with four doors and was driven by a Caucasian man with curly hair. The victim was treated in hospital and released.
At about 9:30 p.m., officers got a report that a woman had been bear-sprayed by a man driving what was described as a black truck in the 1200 block of the alley between Garnet Street and Cameron Street. The 44-year-old woman was treated by paramedics.
Anyone who saw either attack or has information is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
